Dublin Castle
We begin the day with a tour of Dublin Castle – built in the early 13th century it was the centre of British administration in Ireland for almost 800 years. The guided tour will take you through the castle’s role in Ireland’s history, from its medieval origins to its use as a seat of British power revealing its turbulent history.
Christ Church Cathedral
Wandering through the streets of old Dublin we’ll head to Christ Church Cathedral, one of Dublin’s two cathedrals and most iconic landmarks. Exploring the stunning interior and the medieval crypt, which houses fascinating historical artefacts, we’ll detail the cathedral’s history and its role in the development of Dublin City.
Traditional Irish Pubs
Spoilt for choice we’ll lunch at one of many of the traditional Irish pubs in the area, and listen to some traditional Irish music as we dine on some of Ireland’s favourite dishes like fish ‘n’ chips or the more traditional Irish stew.
Guinness Storehouse
The day will be capped off with an engaging and entertaining tour of the Guinness Storehouse, Ireland’s number one tourist attraction. Here we’ll discover the history of Ireland’s most famous stout, Guinness, from its founding in 1759 to its global success. The tour comes to a close as you enjoy a pint of ‘the black stuff’ in the Gravity Bar, with panoramic views across Dublin’s city, mountains and seascapes.
